BOYS

Having just received this lovely Sugar Nellie image - Manga Boy - I had to have a play, just as I was able to have a little play with my new grandson yesterday when he made his first visit to our house with his daddy. Magic!!

Anyway, I've used a mixture of papers together with a few bits that a little boy may just have in his pocket, ie. string, buttons and a frog! What fun this was to make.

I would like to enter it in the Craft Garden February challenge - Boys,
and the

Totally Papercrafts challenge #2 - 3 embellishments, - 2 papers, - 1 image.

ANOTHER CHALLENGE

I've had a go at this weeks Copic Colour Challenge #48. The colours for this are:

G21 - Lime Green

B45 - Smokey Blue

R85 - Rose Red

Guess what? I had them all this time so no trip to the craft shop for more.

I've used a new Lili of the Valley stamp, some free papers from Cardmaking and Papercraft magazine, some of my gorgeous Prima flowers, my Martha Stewart edge punch - doily lace, some beads and my nestabilities.

Apart from entering the Copic challenge, I am putting this card in this month's Craft Garden challenge - NEW.

3 CHALLENGES IN 1

Firstly, I hope the picture is clear enough. I've tried with 2 cameras but can't get anything decent in this wintery daylight.

The Copic Colour Challenge #47 requires the use of these 3 colours:

B97 - Night Blue

YG07 - Acid Green

W-5 - Warm Grey no. 5

Even though I didn't have any of these colours, it gave me the excuse to go and get them!!!! I know. Anyway, I managed the top and bottom colours but it seems that the Acid Green is not a Ciao pen but another Copic type which A. I couldn't get and B. costs about £4+. Instead, I substituted that green for YG06 - Yellowish Green.

As I really need to make some ATCs, I decided to do that instead of making another card.

The background is a Tim Holtz component ATC stamp which I stamped using Old Paper Distress ink. I then used the Copics to highlight and colour the stems, bullrushes, flower heads and butterflies. A few beadazzles, a Sakura glaze on the bullrushes and a light distressing round the edges, finished the ATC.

As I have used 4 NEW items - the Sakura glaze pen and Copics, I am also entering this into the Craft Garden challenge for this month. Aparently, multiple entries are allowed.

Also, I have used 3 OLD items - Tim Holtz stamp, beadazzles, Distress ink,

and at least 1 NEW - Copics

therefore, I will substitute this ATC for one of the others I made for Heather's 'Out with the Old, in with the New' challenge.

Phew!!

I'M CHALLENGED!

I've decided to have a go at the Copic Colour Challenge which is renewed weekly. Click on the link in the side bar for details.

This week, which is #46, asks you to use the 3 colours :

G00 - Jade Green

RV21 - Light Pink

B32 - Pale Blue

I love Copics but am in the process of learning how to use them so thought this challenge would help me and also give me an excuse to increase my stock!! Ok, I know that's an excuse, but it's a good one.

This little card has surprised me because I feel really happy with how it turned out. I used K & Co papers, DCWV ribbon, Petaloo flowers, Nestabilities cutting frame, some brads and a little bit of malibu feather. The main image is a new addition to my craft stash and is by Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps.

As I have used something NEW, I am also entering this card in the Craft Garden's January challenge, NEW. Again, the link is in my side bar.

Now I've had a little play, it's back to the decorating!!

THE CRAFT GARDEN MONTHLY CHALLENGE

I love Prima flowers. They are so realistic but versatile too. You can change the colours if necessary simply by using an ink pad. Brilliant.

However, my main source, from an ebay shop, now has their own web site aptly named The Craft Garden, http://www.thecraftgarden/ .co.uk. The lady who owns this site has thrown up a challenge to create a card, scrapbook page or whatever takes your fancy, using flowers. There is a lovely prize for the randomly picked winner. There will be other challenges, each running from the 1st of the month to the last day of that month. Simply visit the blog http://thecraftgarden.blogspot.com/ for details, and have a go.

This was an ideal opportunity for me to make another page for Toby's album, so a big thank you to the Craft Garden for giving me this little incentive.
