WOYWW #136

I've finally caught up with the list of jobs after the Xmas break. In fact, even DH is going to start one of the remaining big jobs we have to do, so he's getting back on track too.
I've made a start on this year's birthday and anniversary list because I want to try and use my mass of stash at some point and make some cards for the NW Ambulance charity shop. I thought that would be a good way of keeping busy and using old papers etc. instead of giving them away all the time. I so hope I stick to this plan so I need to be disciplined.
My little space shows a work in progress. I stood for too long yesterday grafting away at this and ended up with back ache and a really sore neck. As a bit of compensation we decided to go to the pub for a carvery dinner which was really good. So today I mustn't spend as long leaning over and take more breaks or it will never get done.
Last week I managed to get around to about 20 desks all thanks to the wonderful Julia who is keeping this Wednesday phenomenon going. Without Julia thinking up this amazing treat none of us would have met. Don't you just love Wednesdays?? I do.

I also am starting to craft standing up and I know how bad it can be on the back. Maybe time to raise the desk? I like your idea of making cards for the charity shop.

I craft standing up, but that's because hubby made the table so high I need to!!

My bum has to in contact with something whilst I craft... I have arthritis in my neck (shhhh, I didn't admit to that as it makes me sound old) and standing up would be a killer so I know how your poor back must feel!!

Hi there; great creative space this week with lots to see! Thanks for sharing! I need to sit to craft, coffee close by and all my essentials just a little stretch away!

I have never tried crafting standing up - I would love to do it sitting - but for now kneel on the floor - bad for the legs though, must do something about it this year... if only!

I always did my scrapbook page at the kitchen counter (we had a HUGE long counter and didn't use most of it for food prep so safe) when the kids were young and I had to keep an eye on them. Now I am more inclined to get down on the floor as my desk is such a mess :)

I also stand to craft. I have a chair that is for my sewing machine, but not for painting, gluing, etc. Gotta stand. Hope your back gets better soon. Happy WOYWW (#3).

Hope your back gets to feeling better soon! I alternate between sitting and standing otherwise I end up in the same boat! It sounds like going out helped a bit too! Thanks for sharing and have a great week! Vickie #50

That's a win-win situation. You use up your stash and scraps and the NW Ambulance charity benefits! I Like that!

I have never been able to craft standing up. I wish I could because the sitting kills me! Different strokes for different folks!

Pub lunch sounds good - bad back less so. I always start with the intention of sitting down to craft but can't measure, cut or stamp sitting down so it doesn't last long.

Are those ink pads to the right of your desk? Just spying around, seeing what I can find!

A pub lunch sounds wonderful - but what is carvery?

playing catch up eventually feels good - and it's great to get on with things isn't it? I had a good splurge this week too. Looking good so far here...Thanks for the peek in to your crafty space...Sarah at 6

I stand to craft too so have to tootle off and do something else every now and again or my back would ache too. Sounds like a good plan to use papers up in making cards for charity - wish you success in keeping to the plan. Have a great week. Elizabeth x #96

I'm still trying to catch up on last week's visits, so I've popped by to say Hi to you first....and I'm honoured to be one of your 20 or so visits last week! On that note, what do you think to the number who have got involved this time? Gotta be a record!

Hoping you don't get more back/neck ache!

Sitting, standing...that's a nice neat space to do it in. I'm in the middle... sometimes stand sometimes sit... depends on the mood, the back etc.,

:) You should stretch regularly while crafting! Or not...if it means someone else gets to cook dinner later!

Sorry to hear that you wounded yourself crafting. It looks like you have some things planned though. Good luck staying disciplined and using up the stash!

Your plan sounds good. Hope the neck and back are feeling easier today - thanks for the peep at your workspace(Hazel, WOYWW 67) x

Joanne, it is exactly people like you that make WOYWW work out as I hoped..I love the connection. Honestly, I don't communicate with my relatives this often! I have unused Christmas cards and a handful of cards from class samples looking for a home..can I send them to you to add to your Air Ambulance pile?
And....try a high stool - sort of standing with aid (!!) sure takes the strain of the back and hips. Of course, Im a dedicated sitter, so any standing does me in!!

I know what you mean about the backache - I work at my kitchen counter if I'm embossing or die cutting, and always have backache from that! I now set the kitchen time for half hour stretch so that I move about (and often put the kettle on lol!)

Your workdesk looks well loved, and I agree on the WOYWW phenomenon, great fun and inspiration!

I tend to stand whilst cutting and die cutting but then sit to faff and fart with whatever I am doing!!
Thanks for your visit - don't worry, that card will never roam far from sight! It was on my board but I was running out of space so it got moved to my desk!

P.S. Why don't you join us in the playground of the Smippets Challenge! It is free and you get to meet some nice peeps who are all using up the Snippets. If you go back to earlier my post of Tuesday you will see all the deets!
